Konica Q-Mini 16mb CompactFlash card

The most common response to my Q-Mini page has been "great pics- I'm going to buy the Q-Mini, where can I get the flash card?"

So instead of emailing replies- here's duffacks:

The Q-Mini uses what is generically known as a "CompactFlash" card.

There are several different flash RAM card styles- this particular type of card is about the size of a matchbook. It is **not** a PCMCIA card. Maybe the bus connector is the same, I don't know... but I think that anything listed as "PCMCIA II compatible" probably **will**not** work...

"CompactFlash" is the generic (industry-wide) name for the type of card which will physically fit in the Q-Mini camera, and have the correct bus- you will find different cards known as "FlashCard", "RAMcard", "FlashRam", and whatever, but I don't think they will work with the Q-Mini (different size, physical layout, bus, whatever). "CompactFlash" is what you need.

Good luck. I actually spent quite a bit of time searching the WWW, and only found one or two references to "CompactFlash", but that was in March '98, and you know how fast things change... PCConnection seemed to have a good price and a good name- and they had these cards in stock (in several sizes- 4mb, 8mb, 12mb, 16mb, 32mb).

The card I got was manufactured by "Simple Technology", 16mb CompactFlash, and cost me $135 + shipping from "PC Connection"- You can link directly to their specs & order page:
